3 Most Popular Free Classified Sites in India

There are hundreds of free classified sites in India, both small and big. Some of them are general while some cater to a specific niche. Classified sites have helped thousands of individuals and businesses especially small and medium businesses to get desired results. In this post we will discuss the 3 most famous free classified sites in India.

1) Olx.in

Olx is one of the most famous free classified sites in India. This site was founded by fabric Grinda. Olx Classified sites run in 91 countries and in more than 39 languages across the world of which Olx India is a part. Even they have series of funny ads on TV that I guess you have seen already. This site offers features pretty much like the other 2 sites listed above in this post.
Apart from the above sites there are various other free classified sites in india but definitely Clickindia, Quikr and Olx are the most famous and popular once and receive millions of visitors each month. You can use them to post free classified ads and get quality responses/leads.

This is another popular free classified site in India and my personal favorite. It was started by Pranay Chulet, in 2008 and today it hosts over 2 million advertisements and has 15 million subscribers. They heavily advertise on Television. They have a very attractive and glossy design and their mobile site is also good. You can choose to list your advertisement for free or use sponsored listing feature for a very nominal price which enables better visibility.

Clickindia
This website was founded by Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, a pass out of IIM Indore at a time when online classified business was still at its nascent stage in India. 5 Best Wolfram Alpha widgets for your website

If you wish to spice up your website or blog, you can easily embed one of the many widgets available at Wolfram Alpha. There are widgets in many categories such as computation, information technology, mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, web and computer systems and more. This article talks about the top 5 Wolfram Alpha widgets that I think will be useful to bloggers and website owners.

Wolfram Alpha widgets

Wolfram Alpha – All of Wolfram Alpha
You can find this widget under the “Web and computer systems” category. The widget is the best one available on the Wolfram Alpha website as it can do just about anything: you can add things; you can perform multiplications or other mathematical computations; you can find out real time information about any city; you can find information about other artifacts such as Eiffel Tower, Charminar etc.
It offers much more functionality and shows as much details as it can. For example, if you type a city name, it will not only show the state and country the city is located, it will load map for you so that you can see it on the map. It will also provide any interesting information about the place. Likewise, if you enter “2+2″, you can expect a chart in addition to the answer (see the image above). Click here to get the Wolfram Alpha – All of Wolfram Alpha.

Ask Me Anything
Another very useful widgets from Wolfram Alpha is the “Ask Me Anything” widget. This is similar to the widget we talked in the above section. You have to enter a query and it will produce an answer. At the bottom of the wolfram alpha widgets is structured database that makes things easier for developers to create widgets that can be used for practically anything.

Coming to this widget, it offers information when you ask it questions such as “What is Afghanistan”, “Where was Barack Obama Born”, or even “Nearest Galaxy”. This looks like Google but has a much more solid approach compared to Google search as the database types vary. You can get this widget at Wolfram website.
Website Visitors
This is yet another interesting widgets available from Wolfram Alpha. This widget tells you the number of users on any website at the moment. For example, you can type YouTube in the text box and click on Submit to know how many users are there on the YouTube. In addition, you also get a chart description.
You can use this website visitors widget to display how many visitors are there on your website. It needs a little tweaking so that the website name is set to yourWebsite.com. This is a useful widget if you are studying your competitors or if you wish to add a little thrill on your blog. You can get this widget on Wolfram Alpha.
QR Code Generator
A QR code is a quick way to present information. All one needs is a QR code scanner to scan the information. You can make use of the Q R Code Generator Widget on your business cards, billboards etc. Just enter whatever information you want coded and click on Submit. It will generate a code that you can copy to the clipboard using one of the screen capture tools. Once copied you can use it anywhere. Get the widget from Wolfram Alpha.
SEO Analysis Tool Widget
This is a tool that bloggers and webmasters can use to know where they stand in the search engine results. They can also use this tool to get figures from competitors’ website. The tool is simple. You have to enter the website name or URL and click on submit. That done, it will pull out relevant data from Alexa. Based on this information, you can further optimize your website or blog. Get the widget here.
If you have your favorites or have used any of the above, please share your experience with us.

Safety Tips for Using a Public Computer

Public computers like in the libraries, airports, internet cafes and other locally accessible systems are used by every other person in the time of need. Such systems are easy targets for accessing valuable data of an individual who has previously used that computer. Therefore, public computers are regarded risky to check emails, bank account details etc. But this can be avoided by keeping certain tips in mind while entering data at public computers. Brooke Chloe, an young tech expert and writer provides some safety tips while using a public computer.

Safety Tips While You Using a Public Computer

★ Logout from all accounts: First of all, always logout of your accounts from the websites. Websites that require passwords and keys have ‘kept me logged in’ option. This option sometimes gets unnoticed by the user and thus causes the account logged on even after closing the website. This is the easiest way to get into someone’s account and mostly, public computers have this option checked. Therefore, to avoid such a mess, always uncheck this option and then enter your login information. Un-checking this option helps you to quit your account even without logging out.

Next, whenever you’re accessing some website having your private data on screen, never leave it unattended. People sometimes obtain data even in a fraction of a second when the user leaves unattended. If you’ve to leave the screen for a few minutes, log out all of your accounts to keep your privacy and information intact. Thus, you can prevent over-sharing and protect your online identity.

★ Use incognito or private mode while browsing: If you want to keep no tracks of your browsing, you’ve to use incognito or private mode of browsing. Most of the internet browsers, like Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, and Mozilla Firefox etc. have the option of private browsing available which keeps no tracks of your browsing. Incognito feature helps in more private searching and has no tracks in browser history but private browsing is not as private as you think that you are browsing safe.

★ Use Internet Explorer: Internet explorer even saves passwords and keys even if you have disabled ‘remember your password’ option and you’ve logged out of your account. This is potential source for hackers to obtain personal information of user even after he has taken all possible measures to avoid it. To avoid this, uncheck all the options in the browser’s settings which make your keys and passwords saved in the browser’s content.

Internet Explorer has this feature available in the tool’s section of its settings. Moreover, passwords and keys can also be retrieved if you’ve downloaded some file or document. Hackers get back on the track to find potential source of the file downloaded. Therefore, after obtaining the file from a public computer, delete it from the system and even from the recycle bin after you’ve saved a copy with yourself.

★ Be aware of your surroundings: At public systems available at coffee shops, internet cafes etc. possible hackers have this trick of befriending the user by having a little conversation and then on looking at the computer screens. Such people get on to the passwords in their split eye movement and thus get hands on your password even after you’ve removed and avoided all the other sources of obtaining it. Therefore, look out for such people and don’t enter such information when you’ve someone standing by your side even if they’re being courteous or waiting for their turn. So, you've to be very conscious about your sourroundings while you using an public WIFI network or a public computer.

★ Avoid entering personal or professional info: But the easiest way to avoid all this is to not enter any kind of personal information while using a locally available system. Because even if you have done all the above mentioned measures, hackers have installed softwares which store passwords and data even if you’ve disabled password storage information, removed browser history or are browsing incognito.

By using such softwares, there’s no need to take measures to avoid hacking because they store the information even if you have removed tracks. It could be harmful for you at such level that hacker can pressurize you by different kind of demands. Therefore it’s better not to enter confidential data while using public computers.
